Janice MacKay

Candidacy Announcement? Not yet.

BRAD “THE BAILOUT” MILLER MUST GO!

As of July, 2009, Janice MacKay has not announced any plans to run as a candidate, in any political party, for any elected office in 2010. One possible candidacy for 2010 could include a run for Congress in NC Congressional District 13. Janice is perturbed with misrepresentation of District 13 voters by Congressman Brad Miller, who went against the wishes of the people, by voting to recklessly spend HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of BAILOUT dollars. President George W. Bush and Congress destroyed our nations’ economic future, voting on wall street bailouts / TARP bills / Emergency Economic Stabilization Act that were not even read, put the nation into extreme debt, despite demands by millions of voters that Congress vote against it.
Janice comments, “I was opposed to the invasion of Iraq, and the continued occupation of Iraq, opposed the bailout, and voted only for people who opposed the bailout in 2008, and will, to the best of my ability, oppose the 2010 re-election of anyone who was for the bailout. When you hear of corporate executives getting rich off your money, and your future money, Brad Miller is one of those who voted for the bailout. Please remember that when you vote in November, 2010.”

The 2008 MACKAY FOR SENATE committee says Thank You to Wake County Voters.

The MacKay for Senate committee, and Janice MacKay, thanks the many supporters of the 2008 MacKay for Senate campaign, and the more than 4600 voters from Raleigh and northern Wake County areas of North Carolina who voted for smaller government, reduced spending, lower taxes, more respect for diverse categories of people, more individual rights, more responsibility, more individual liberty and freedom consistent with the Bill of Rights, and powers of government limited to those allowed to government by the US Constitution, and zero tolerance for corruption by crooked politicians, elected officials, and political appointees.

Janice ran a very respectable campaign, getting over 4600 votes from voters in the Raleigh area and northern Wake County area in a 3-way race for NC State Senate in District 15. Unfortunately, it was not enough to ultimately win. However, all things considered, the campaign went quite well.

Problem: State Sponsored Political Parties

The problem of a duopoly will continue until citizens get fed up and demand fair elections. There are two major parties which have all the power of the state, and they make the election laws. Since the laws of the state are heavily in favor of the Democrat and Republican parties, due to laws made by them, this duopoly is best considered “state sponsored” political parties. When the state sponsors political parties, the concept of fair elections is no longer valid. Do not expect we will ever have fair elections of all qualified candidates in North Carolina, unless this becomes a citizen demand. We can, and do, propose election laws become more fair, by legislative change such as the Fair Ballot Access for Increased Voter Choice which is a legislative proposal which I drafted in 2008. The ballot access proposal is just one example of laws that need to be enacted in order to have better and more representative government.

The major downside of so many incumbent legislators being re-elected to the NC General Assembly, and many incumbents running unopposed, is that we still have all the major problems in NC government that existed in 2008, and much more!

Some Solutions:

Make your demands on elected officials known! Contact your legislators often.
As you meet honest and practical people, suggest they run for elected office.
Don’t underestimate the potential of all voters to become disenchanted with the duopoly and turn to third party candidates for the solutions which best and most fairly represent the people.

Future Plans:

Janice MacKay continues to contact the NC General Assembly, NC Governor Perdue, US Congress, and President Obama on an almost daily basis,  regarding a wide range of issues. Janice has not announced any plans for 2010 other than a pledge to continue to work diligently for freedoms we once knew and took pride in, as Americans.

As for a political future, whether or not any of the candidates in the Libertarian Party will ever get the respect and votes they rightfully deserve, sadly, remains to be seen.

Janice MacKay recognizes there is an urgent need to bring practical and needed change to the state, even if it means an attempt to bring change inside “the RULING PARTY” (Democrats) in North Carolina. Imagine if our elected officials work for equal rights for all people, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or wealth, AND without undue political influence by campaign contributors and lobbyists, AND also work within the US Constitution and strengthen the Bill of Rights. standing up for people who want to keep more of the income they have earned, remove taxes on groceries and necessities, retain our right to arms, and get rid of those checkpoints and safety nanny laws which impose “Gestaposis” across our countryside. Imagine if we can once again enjoy more liberties than anywhere else in the world. We must defend human rights for all who visit our state, and must demand the citizens rights and freedoms which are the rights of American citizens who have adopted our state as their home, and those of us who have the birthright as Americans. I don’t know about you, but as for myself, freedom is everything.
